PURPOSE FOR SEEKING RE-ELECTION TO LOCA BOARD

As a full time resident, I am seeking a second term to continue to be of service to all 
homeowners and help make sure our community remains a safe and enjoyable place to live. A place where residents can continue to experience a high quality of life for themselves and their family. I bring a philosophy of advocacy, stewardship and service to all homeowners, the Association, and the Club.


BACKGROUND

PROFESSIONAL:
I recently retired, in January of 2024, after spending my entire professional career, 34 years, as a Financial Advisor / Managing Director with Morgan Stanley. My area of expertise was working with business owners, on a national basis, assisting them to execute on various business, strategic planning, tax, legal and other wealth management issues they face on a daily basis.

Moved to Florida with my wife, Michele, about 25 years ago. We first resided in Redington Beach, FL and subsequently moving to Sarasota, FL. We became full time residents at Laurel Oak six years ago.

HOA ACCOMPLISHMENTS 
To name only a few accomplishments over the last two years:
For the first time: The HOA instituted formal monthly HOA meetings, with ZOOM functionality, to help provide better clarity for all residents. Historically, the HOA normally had quarterly meetings.
For the first time: the HOA created a number of resident staffed Working Groups to obtain greater input form experts in their respective fields to help insure HOA Boards, now and in the future, make well thought out and reasoned decisions.
For the first time: We implemented digital voting, helping residents to participate more 
efficiently and easily when home owner votes are required.
For the first time: the HOA implemented digital surveys to help make sure the opinions of all home owners are heard.
For the first time: We acquired state of art HOA management software to provide our management team the ability to create efficient management and service processes.
For the first time: The HOA implemented a sophisticated asset management process using Treasury Direct to help insure our capital reserves are invested as effectively as possible.
Also, as residents, we voted to update our HOA covenants to current law and standards which had not been done in decades.
And, the Board and Management team, with assistance from the Finance Working Group, updated the HOA reserve study which had not been done in six years.

In short, the last two years has been a busy time. And, there is plenty of work still to be 
done. In collaboration with other Board members, the management team, and other homeowners, I looking forward to using my talent and experience to continue to be of 
service to all residents.
